The Essentials Yoga Class
This is an active and on going class at Yoga Arts, appropriate for most levels of ability, but it is not a beginners class. The class focuses on a broad range of essential yoga postures to improve one’s skeletal alignment, balance, flexibility and strength. In addition, participants learn to release stress, enhance breathing and quiet the mind. Variations are given for differing levels of experience and ability and therapeutic principles are introduced with the goal that participants grow more fit, present, and healthy.
Monday: 5:45-7 p.m.
Thursday: 5:45 – 7 p.m.
Saturday: 9:30 – 10:45 a.m.
Restorative/Therapeutic Yoga Class

This class combines therapeutic movement and restorative postures and is especially suitable for people whose condition keeps them from practicing yoga in its more active form. Most of the class takes place in chairs and lying on the floor on mats. All movement will be gentle, well-supported and designed to safely open, stretch, strengthen and release tension from muscles and joints. Participants will improve circulation and mobility to the limbs and organs, which will help to reduce pain and fatigue and boost energy. We will also assume relaxing and releasing postures for longer periods, calming the mind and nervous system, improving breath capacity — all supporting immunity and well-being.
Wednesday, 10-11:15 a.m.
Friday, 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Discovering Yoga
This class is appropriate for beginners but will benefit all. It focuses on how to work within and improve the boundaries of one’s flexibility. The class helps participants build a foundation of skeletal alignment, core strength, standing balance and stress release. Props are used to help students execute postures with confidence and to greatest benefit.
